A couple Saturdays ago, Eric and I got caught up in ridiculous mid-morning traffic on 45 North... It just so happened that I was starving and wanted meat market dollar tacos... So, I convinced Eric to do what most white boys wouldn't. We ventured out of the freeway, deep into 'the hood,' way past Fiesta the shady car lots and the resale shops to a small strip mall with La Moreliana Meat Market. The place smells like a Mexican Tianguis, which is a semi/outdoor market full of raw meats. The store is really run down.... but the food is delicious. I ordered a Barbacoa taco and a chicharron taco... They were way TOO MUCH food! I don't mean just big tortillas. I mean beef/pork overload!!! Eric ordered their fajita tacos, which had yummy grilled onions and bell peppers. Sheer deliciousness. The tortillas are handmade, and they are the perfect size and warmth. Their salsa is handmade on site, but reaaaally, really spicy. I would go back to this place in a minute, except I'm not sure I could find it again without a GPS!
